A maroni (roasted chestnut) vendor severs up a helping on a cold winter day in Vienna's 1st District.
Maronis are a Viennese tradition in winter with many street vendors selling the warm treats. They are sold by the piece and usually 2 Euro or so for 12 pieces. They are a great addition to a cold winter walk.
Metroblogging Vienna has an interesting writeup >here. Happy Friday!

PS: You can hardly see the chestnuts in this shot - but the machine the vendor is leaning over is a chestnut roaster. The maronis can be seen, but only in the roaster pan right under the vendor. The other items are "bratkartoffel" or roasted potatoes - also roasted on location in the pan shown.
I wondered what a maroni was. I love her gloves!

I’m glad that most of the people here are really clever, and are fun to talk, because we have a lot in common. Here I can express myself, share different information, have gun, enjoy communication. Some people here are angry, but why, guys? Make friends, be nice, share what you think, and you won’t feel lonely anymore!
