Xmas Markt the Spot Xmas Markt the Spot

I don't know about anybody out there, but when someone says "let's go to the Christmas market", I certainly don't have visions of a Baroque Church from the 1700's as a backdrop... But that is certainly what you get here in Vienna.

Yes, the Karlskirche or Karl's Church plays host to its annual Christmas Market and it is a sight to behold. Somehow the punch/Gluehwein tastes better and your feet are not quite as frozen.

I hope to sling the tripod one last time before heading home for a week for Christmas...let's hope I get something good and can resuscitate my computer before going...

Beautiful church! I think I like this tree better than the one yesterday. The markt doesn't look quite as crowded as the one at the Rathaus. Maybe people are getting "markt" out!
Have a good trip!

For me personally, Christkindlmarkt and Karlskirche just dont fit together...Karlskirche is way too formal. But the quality of the photo is like always, SUPER. Did you know, that the original Christkindlmarkt was before the Kirche am Hof in the Inneren Stadt?
