Opera House I Opera House I

Well, what I thought was construction turned out to be design by intention...

For a long time I had not shot the Vienna State Opera House because I thought it was under construction and I wanted to bring you the best view possible of it... It turns out the giant "fake looking" facade on top of the building was actually designed/intended to be there. (I have not shot it in today's picture).

So, after a long (unnecessary) wait, here is your first look at the Staatsoper.

wow, that is some really beautiful architecture! I miss Vienna. I went for a week or so back in 1989. It was such a beautiful and lively city. Nice shot!

Your Vienna pics are beautiful and I'd really like ti visit it for real. But I think I will wait until 2007 when there is less tourists (because of Mozart :) It is as if everybody wanted to go to the same palce at the same time!
