May FlowersMay marks magnolia macro magic from B. As in...here’s our transition from April showers (see yesterday's shot) to May flowers.
There has been an absolutely amazing display of magnolias around Vienna for the past two weeks. The streets in some residential neighborhoods are lined with magnolia trees...and at the right time on a sunny afternoon you’d swear the sky was pink. You can imagine the impact of all the stunning pink and violet magnolia blossoms up against the bluescreen blue skies here...yup.
We had a great afternoon last weekend shooting the magnolias... B was half way up a tree holding a rod iron fence toting my s410 digital fling with her. She has a way of getting great macros with the little Elph. Of all the shots we took together, about 90% of the photos making the final cut were B's. What can I say?

These beautiful trees are a sight for sore eyes. Some may find the background distracting, but I love the overall feel with all the pink and hints of blue sky. Nice job!

I love Magnolias - especially the big pink ones. Ours here have already come and gone for the year and are now showing off their green leaves.

Wow, how I wish I could be in Vienna just to see the magnolias. Is there a magnolia festival just as there are cherry blossom festivals in Japan?
